There was a great feature from The Knot about Wedding Rules you can break - most of them pretty obvious but it's always a nice reminder that it really is ok. Most importantly, the day should be about what YOU want, not what you're "supposed" to have or do. Just have fun!
The rules that are meant to be broken:
Old School Rule #1: The bride's parents pay for the wedding.
Old School Rule #2: You must invite everyone with a guest.
Old School Rule #3: Your registry should consist entirely of housewares for your new home.
Old School Rule #4: You must wear a long, white gown.
Old School Rule #5: Your mom can't throw your shower.
Old School Rule #6: You have to have a rehearsal dinner.
Old School Rule #7: The first time you see your groom on your wedding day should be at your ceremony.
Old School Rule #8: Ceremony seating is based on a bride's side and groom's side.
Old School Rule #9: You must walk down the aisle.
Old School Rule #10: You have to leave for your honeymoon right after your reception.
