Ruffles!

I love these ruffles!  A great photobooth backdrop, right?!  I was trying to figure out how easy it would be to create something like this yourself....I'm not really the "sewy" type.  THEN(!) I was cruising the Antrhopologie website and found these shower curtains.  Ta-da!  DIY as easy as a trip to your favorite store (but a little pricier than just a big sheet).

Dinnerware

I keep reading about how easy and fun it is to buy a bunch of mismatched plates for your dinner.  You can hit up the Goodwill, Salvation Army, Value Village and buy $1 plates for your wedding meal.  That's about what you'd spend to rent (if not more) and after you can feel good about re-donating them, donating them to another bride or selling them to another pride, breaking even.  It definintely depends on what kind of look and feel you're going for but I think it's fun and can work for a lot people!  Happy dish hunting!

Bridesmaids Dresses

I'm really torn about everyone being matchy matchy or just going with the wear whatever you want look.  This is proof that the wear whatever you want look is just fine, right?  I'm the worst decision maker ever.

Wedding Bells for Cutie

I like Death Cab for Cutie, not enough to know one of the band members was to wed this November.  But this is his wedding.  Here; in Seattle.  Centerpiece cakes by Macrina (us too!), significant other a graphic designer and did the invitations, paper goods and website (us too!) and Ben Gibbard and Zoey Deschanel sang a duet, since they're friends and all (us too, errrr, yeah, I wish!).  I think to date of all the weddings I have cyber stalked, this one is my favorite.  Per the pictures, it is clear everyone had a blast.  You can't fake those smiles on the dance floor.  Love, love, LOVE it.  Check it out!

Bahama Mama

This wedding is A.Mazing.  Not only do I LOVE the colors and pretty much everything about it but it looks like they had so.much.fun.  This people, THIS is what a wedding is supposed to be.  They are so in love- and you can tell.  And their friends and famly are there in full support of their union...and to dance.  I just love it.  I can't even really explain why, but this photographer captured everything.  It tells a fantastic story.

Take a Seat!

Here's another awesome way to find your table.  Especially if you're going to have over 100 guests.  100+ placecards can be a handful and take up a lot of space that you may or may not have.  This giant picture frame does the trick and it looks sleek and fun too!

LOVE this backdrop used as the background of the ceremony.  It would also be a super fun photobooth backdrop.  Hours of DIY but oh so pretty!

Eat This!

In addition to a simply gorgeous wedding, I LOVE love love these roaming appetizers.  They are so bright and fresh and beautiful.  It doesn't even matter what the food tastes like because they look so good, they can't be bad!  This is totally somthing you could DIY, building the crates and then picking fresh, seasonal goodness to brighten your appetizers!  Yay!

Strike A Pose

There's a really great article in The Knot today about Top 50 Must Have Wedding Photos.  Probably something great to take a look through so you and your photographer are on the same page and you get each and every photo you want - no regrets.  Just let your photographer know....I think they often prefer that you have an idea so you get everything you want.  You are paying for it, afterall!

Escort Card Ideas

Keeping in line with the Martha, Martha, Martha, here's a link to some creative escort card ideas.  There are like 50 different ideas at this link....of course, anything goes - your opporunities are endless!  I'm partial to hearts myself - this is my favorite from Martha.  But did you see the lollipop escorts in the Pretty in Pink post?  Get your creative cap on - this could be as fun as you want it to be!

Table Number Ideas

Here's some more Martha with a slew of Table Number Ideas.  At a wedding we went to this past summer, I loved the idea of having a picture one side the bride, one side the groom at the age of the table number.  So, at table one, it was a picture of each of them at the age of one, table two, they were two and so on.  I've seem pictures of the couple but not in this fashion - really great way to incorprate slide show pictures into real life.

Anyway, Martha has some great ideas too - as always!  Check them out!

Video Save the Date

We're about to get our Save the Dates out - November(ish).  This is just a super sweet, super fun idea.  I love the music and the painting and how it ties back to when they first fell in love in college.  See the full post at The Wedding Chicks!

Hat 'n' Boots Ceremony

100 Layer Cake featured a wedding this week in one of my FAVORITE places in Seattle.  World's Largest Hat 'n' Boots in Oxbow Park.  It used to be a gas station off of Highway 99.  The hat (the store part of the gas station) and boots (the restrooms) have since been relocated to Oxbow Park.

I'm too paranoid to plan a wedding in Seattle outside (even in August - my friends got rained on just this year!) but the weather worked for this lucky couple and the pictures couldn't be dreamier.  They had their reception at the beautiful Georgetown Studios - Engine Room.  Those huge windows are to die for.  And their decorations and perfect.  Balloons make everything better!

Candy Drawer!

We used to have a candy drawer (yes, really) when I was growing up.  This fun idea brings new meaning to the candy drawer as I knew it.  I totally dig it!!  Goodbye jars, hello dresser drawers!

Wedding Planning: The 10 Wedding Rules You Can Break

There was a great feature from The Knot about Wedding Rules you can break - most of them pretty obvious but it's always a nice reminder that it really is ok.  Most importantly, the day should be about what YOU want, not what you're "supposed" to have or do.  Just have fun!

The rules that are meant to be broken:

Old School Rule #1: The bride's parents pay for the wedding.
Old School Rule #2: You must invite everyone with a guest.
Old School Rule #3: Your registry should consist entirely of housewares for your new home.
Old School Rule #4: You must wear a long, white gown.
Old School Rule #5: Your mom can't throw your shower.
Old School Rule #6: You have to have a rehearsal dinner.
Old School Rule #7: The first time you see your groom on your wedding day should be at your ceremony.
Old School Rule #8: Ceremony seating is based on a bride's side and groom's side.
Old School Rule #9: You must walk down the aisle.
Old School Rule #10: You have to leave for your honeymoon right after your reception.

This beach setting is absolutely to die for.  It's simple and sophisticated and is EXACTLY why everyone should have a destination wedding.  The lantern lights, the candles, the white flowers and the chair covers blowing in the wind - Swoon!
